Official Gmail Blog: Giving group chat a go
when you chatting in gtalk to Gmail messenger, you can now invite your other friends also to join the chat, its no more one to one chat messenger, you can create a group, go for discussion.

1. log in into Gmail account.
2. when chatting with a friend in chat window, click on option button( located at the bottom of the chat window)
3. click on group chat
4. a box will open up at the top of the very chat window
5. you can now enter people you wish to invite.
6. click enter
